about
Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting/listening. I wanted to put this song up for free streaming so everyone can hear the full version. I also put it up for download for $1. I've never seen a "profit" from any of my music and don't really plan to start collecting one anytime soon. However, if you do choose buy the song, it will indeed go right back in to me continuing making more music. I'm in no place as a newlywed/student to put as much money into this as I'd like. I will use the proceeds to help fund things that enable me to start recording things more often and keep this page active. If you don't buy it, no problem! Stream as many times as you like for free here. :) Thanks again for all the kind words and encouragement I've been given by friends and family regarding this song.
-Meaning behind "The Love Notes"-
This is the third song in a "trilogy" I wrote for my now-wife, Danielle. Each of the Love Note's have come in different forms of my various music projects over the years. About the first two...
1. The first was under the name "Graphpaper" (just me, a macbook, and terrible quality recordings)...it was while she was away at college and was just a sappy song about how I missed her.
2. The second I recorded with my band, The Capital (available on iTunes). I basically talk about how pretty she is--inside and out. Sappy again I guess!
The third was written when Danielle decided she wanted to walk down the aisle to a song I wrote. Because I didn't have one written I saw fit for, I don't know, the BIGGEST moment in my life...I decided to pick up a pen and guitar and get to it. After a few months of perfecting and critiquing, I went into the studio with my main man John Harrell. I was able to do it all in a day thanks to him. I recorded all the main instruments and John went back in with some programming and I had it ready a few weeks before the wedding. I let Danielle hear it, and after a few tears (good tears!) she loved it. I wrote it with vocal and musical pinpoints to when the ring maidens, flower girl, and Danielle busts through the doors. The version you hear above is the full studio version. An edited version appears in our awesome highlight video by Five Copper Creative, but you can still get an idea of what it was like here: vimeo.com/72073285#at=0
lyrics
It's been 23 almost 24 years
This boy was made to wait for you right here
A year and a day ago, I took your hand
Put a knee on the ground where the ocean meets the sand
Forever with me stay
Starting with this day
Please be my bride
And walk through life with me,
And take on every stride,
And meet this waiting boy at the altar,
And stand by his side.
Forever I am yours. Forever you are mine
Forever I am yours. Forever you are mine.
The flowers are laid
They're paving the way for you
To walk to boy who falls in love with all you do
If the past five years are anything like the next few,
then walk to the man who is ready to say, "I do"
Forever with me stay
Starting with this day
Here comes my bride
She is walking down the aisle dressed in white
Her groom, he glows with pride, as he sees her beauty shine
Just like every second of every day, it's time
To spend your life with me
Oh, here comes my bride
Here comes my bride!
